ICH BIN EIN BERLINER

After a relaxing weekend at home in London, I headed to Berlin (another first!) for the BCB, Bar Convent Berlin, a much anticipated annual industry trade show. The night before the show began we hosted a tasting dinner complete with a Belvedere cocktail for each of the 5 courses. In attendance were some of Germany and Austria’s best, including Heinz Kaiser of Dino’s American Bar in Vienna and Helmut Lechner, MH brand ambassador extraordinaire. Afterwards, we had a lovely evening out exploring some of Berlin’s best bars.

On the Monday we had a beautiful stand at the BCB thanks to Hagen, German Brand Manager, manned by some very talented bartenders including Michal Biadun from Poland. The day was filled with lots of familiar faces from Zdenek Kastanek, Andrew Nicholls, and Ian Burrell to the one and only John Gakuru.

I ran into my good friend Crystal, from Domaine de Canton, who I haven’t seen in ages.

Special guest appearance by the Ardbeg Land Girls! Well done ladies.

And finally I was lucky enough to see one of my best friends in the world, Katy, who has just recently gotten engaged. Way to go Conrad, you bagged a winner! Katy was there to move her lovely sister Eleanor into her new apartment in her new city, Berlin. I love you girls!
